Brilliant!

Just finished reading "The Firekeeper's Daughter" by Angeline Boulley and absolutely loved it. It's a compelling story, powered by a strand of crime story and spiced with a bit of a love story and that perfect mix had me turning the pages. At the same time, it's a story about community and belonging and it left me longing for this kind of connection.

On top you get stories within the story, like how First Man misses out on multiples orgasms in exchange for the ability to pee standing upright . Hilarious!

Tense and unpredictable, great character development

I really enjoyed this book. I appreciated its representation of indigenous themes, characters, and settings. Readers should be aware though that there are scenes of murder/death and sexual violence in this book and one of the main themes is the destructive power of drug addiction. If you are able to handle that, then I think you will really enjoy this book.
