Set the Record Straight is a fake dating, childhood friends to lovers, bisexual-awakening, holiday romance with an angst-free, happily ever after. There are however, mentions of homophobia, including discussions around a history of religious oppression and being ostracized from family due to sexual orientation. There is purposefully no reconciliation or contact with such family members. For the most part, Set the Record Straight is a fluffy, sweet romantic comedy with one set of incredibly supportive parents and true queer joy.
