It's... alternative universe versions of the heros? Only funny, like with Spiderverse or Secret Wars or Marvel Zombies, only with Venom? And they are fighting something that they call "Poisons" because they're Venoms fighting Poisons? I get it.
This "alternative universe hero fighting" thing is really alternative and hip.

It’s sort of like Luther Strode if it were set in fantasy land and made even less sense.

I had a hard time with this book. On one hand, I like the message, but I couldn’t identify with the character at all. Seriously, your younger self comes to visit and after establishing that it’s really you, the first thing you do is start belittling her fashion choices and yelling at her?
It just hurt to read. And the thrust of the book went somewhere other than where I would have thought.

Sort of like Station Eleven or The Stand or... we’ll, any number of forgettable post apocalyptic stories. Here, people forget things. They also lose their shadows. Then hilarity ensues.
I just didn’t care. The personalities were strong enough or distinctive enough to hold things together, and the basic plot is a road trip.

At some point the plot just dissolved along with causality. I couldn’t tell what had happened but it there’s a lot of dramatic poses where Love conquers Time because Reasons and tolerance of relationships between a woman and a temporal anomaly that looks female and then... fighting?

FUCK YES.
I am consistently amazed at how much better this comic book is than so many of the indie darlings. Dump Paper Girls, scrap Saga. Empowered is just better.
