Galaxy – The Prettiest Star is an entertaining and heartfelt coming-out story about Taelyr, the heiress to an alien planet who had to go into hiding due to an intergalactic war. She took on the identity of Taylor, a human boy, but the charade sucks all joy out of her life. When Taylor meets Kat, a confident girl from Metropolis, she decides to be herself again. Jadzia Axelrod‘s writing handles the pain and the humor of the characters and the story well. The art by Jess Taylor feels breezy and fresh, but it‘s the colors in particular that make the pages shine. Ariana Maher does a solid job on the lettering. I also liked many small details. Many side characters are portrayed expertly on point in just a few lines of conversation, for instance Taylor‘s brother Carl, who is as frustrated by the false identities and the forced family as …
